The TBR Book Tag

Hiiiiii I found another tag that seemed fun. So I did it. Because I have a whole lot of TBR books and maybe this will help inspire me to read them instead of just buying more…..

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I keep all my TBR books on my little TBR shelf, shown above (it’s actually the headboard to my bed!) So, once it’s on that shelf it’s officially TBR, and when I want a new book I just browse!

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

Print! I have like, one or two books on my Kindle that are unread, but I don’t go on ebook shopping sprees.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

Whichever I feel is calling me, to be honest. I know some people plan out their monthly books to read, but it’s really whichever I *feel* like I want to read next, depending on what I’m in the mood for- lengthwise, genre-wise, etc.

A book that’s been been on your TBR list the longest?

There are books that have been on there years and years, some from Borders far before it closed. I don’t know which is the absolute oldest, but they include Case Histories and Behind the Scenes at the Museum by Kate Atkins, The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold, A clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, and The Vanishing of Katharina Linden by Helen Grant.

A Book you recently added to your TBR?

These weren’t pictured because they’re in a boxset on the shelf beside my bed, but I most recently bought these after I finished the Grisha Trilogy a week or two ago. I JUST started the Six of Crows, so I guess that technically doesn’t count, does it? Crooked Kingdom will be next, though.

A book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?

There aren’t any currently on my shelf simply because of the cover (not that haven’t bought a book for it’s cover), but I periodically take The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater out and admire it.

IT’S BEAUTIFUL!! I’ll be reading this next month with a buddy!! I’m not ready for the series to end….but I’m so ready to find out what happens.

A book on your TBR you never plan on reading?

I bought this a million years ago after I finished her book The Lovely Bones, but I’ve heard this book is terribly depressing and not very great, so I really can’t see myself ever garnering the interest in reading it.

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?

The only book that comes to mind is the next book in the Trials of Apollo series by Rick Riordan. Not dying for it, but they’re a lot of fun to read.

A book on your TBR that basically everyone’s read but you?

I literally just finished Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck today because I felt that everyone who’s anyone in the literary world has read that, and now there aren’t any books that are really jumping out at me. Maybe Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Sanfran Foer? Or is it because it’s a movie?

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?

A lot of my TBRs are based on recs. My mom has been begging me to read Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen for literal years, but I have such a hard time with Austen novels. One day…

I already mentioned The Raven King and the Six of Crows Duology, but another I can’t wait to read is this one here. I bought it with the knowledge that I wasn’t going to start it right away, but I just wanted to have it, ya know?

How many books are there on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

My “want to reads” on Goodreads are more of a shopping list, and I take them off when I actually acquire them. When they go on my TBR shelf, they are Offically To Be Read 🙂

It’s tagging time now! I tag-

YOU!
