3 Things About Me

1. I’m never interested in sports except for when the Olympics are on. I try to watch every single second of the Olympics, summer or winter, I love them so much. Once they’re over my sports interest returns to dormancy.

2. When I was a teenager I was obsessed with playing The Sims 2. I spent hours and hours and hours playing that game. I once played a family that made it to 13 generations, and with every generation I’d make up a story for them, play it out, and write it in story mode. It’s long gone now, lost with some old computer….RIP the Beaumonts.

3. When I was young I was so afraid of thunder that it made me terrified of storms which made me terrified of clouds because clouds meant storms. I was also terrified that planes would fall out of the sky and land on my house. So basically for a short period of time when I was young I did not trust the sky.

Questions from Remnants of Wit

1. What’s your favorite thing you’ve posted on your blog?

Probably this poem I wrote a while ago or my A Little Life review. I felt like I expressed my feelings well for that book.

2.What is one thing that you are glad someone forced you to do?

TALK. I was extremely, terribly shy growing up, and still am, but I’m so, SO grateful for people who push me out of my comfort zone and make me talk and be expressive. Before college no one had ever really done that, so I’m super grateful for the friends I made there who gave me that first hard push, even though I resisted. It changed my life. I will happily retreat to my introvert bubble but if I didn’t have people to take me out of it I’d be so unhappy. I think now it makes me even more daring and willing to defy my own comfort zone.

3. Strawberry jam, grape jelly, or orange marmalade?

Strawberry jam!

4. Name one activity (sports, music, etc) that you are terrible at.

Oh gosh. Math. Anything logical. Also crafty things.

5. If you could wipe one fast-food chain off the face of the earth, what would it be?

Hmmm. Tbh I don’t really eat fast food all that much so I don’t really have any strong feelings on any of them? They shall live to see another day.

Some questions for whoever might like to answer them because I’m tagging everyone:

  1. What was your worst fear as a child?
  2. Why did you start your blog?
  3. What kind of style would you say you have?
  4. If you got the opportunity to leave earth and explore space, would you?
  5. If you could be anyone at all for one day, who would it be?

I’m off for a basketball tournament for the weekend (I know I said I’m not into sports but I’m into friends who are into sports), so I’ll see you Monday! Have a great weekend, guys!

  2. Omg same here about the Olympics! And also having a fear of planes falling on your house. In the last neighborhood I lived in, it was right under a fly “path” so planes were constantly going past. I was very paranoid during that portion of my life while we lived there hahaha!

  4. I never played Sims 2 but I became obsessed with Sims 3 for the longest time and had a huge generation of a family too! I was so excited when they came out with the Supernatural pack, and I created an entire vampire family with multiple generations, lol. Then my laptop fried when I dumped a bottle of water on it and I lost all my saved games, lol. I was so mad. Crazy, lol.

My daughter is terrified of thunder but thank god not the sky haha or planes since we live 10 min from an International airport and they are buzzing our house all the time, lol. That would be awful! But she sounds like you when you were little; she is super shy! She had to be made to talk to people when she was younger and used to hide behind me all the time, but she is getting better. She will still get super shy with strangers. I don’t want to force her though and make it worse, but I don’t want her to be scared to talk to people either. I’m an introvert too and it’s so hard at times.

    • I did play Sims 3 after Sims 2, but I definitely spent the most time in Sims 2! And the first Sims before that for a little while. I loved all those expansion packs!! I don’t think I ever had the Supernatural one though, that sounds so fun. Losing saved games can be devastating after spending all that time on them!! I’d get so attached to my Sims, lol.

Shy kids unite!! Except…we still won’t talk much to each other….lol. I totally empathize though, I’d always hide behind my mom when I was little! It was only really after high school I was finally ready to come out of my shell, and my friends gave me that push I needed! I think us introverts just need people to be gentle with us ❤

      • I can’t believe that I never played Sims 2, lol. I remember buying a new laptop that had Sims 3 installed, and I was all excited, lol. It let you create them or something but not play since you had to buy it and by then I had to have the game hahaha!! I bought every single expansion!! I loved that thing! Oh, I was devastated when my laptop died, and I reinstalled the game on my new laptop and I have it on this one, but I just haven’t found time to play. I even went and bought Sims 4 but it is just stupid.

I was shy too, so I get it! I remember being a flower girl when I was 4 and crying my eyes out when I had to walk down the aisle with the flower petals, lol. My dad had to come and get me and walk me to the front. The bride was not happy! But I think I talked to people, I just didn’t want anyone looking at me. I still don’t like to be on display. It freaks me out, lol. I agree introverts need people to be gentle with us 🙂 ❤

      • Sims is so addicting like that!! Sims 2 wasn’t significantly different than Sims 3, just less detailed. I did have a lot of fun with Sims 3 as well, but kind of like you I ran out of time to play and just never spent as much time with it as I did with Sims 2 (which I played mostly as a teenager with all the time in the world, those were the days). I hardly know anything about Sims 4 though, but I don’t think I want to!!

Awww I probably would have been the same way if I was ever a flower girl!! I only don’t mind being center stage if I’m in a room with good friends, but otherwise….nope.
