Top 5 Tuesday: Characters I’d Team Up with To Rule the World

Top 5 Tuesday is a meme by the fantastic Bionic Book Worm, and it explores a different bookish topic each week!

When I first saw this topic the first person that came to mind was Kaz Brekker. Then I thought, okay, I’m not trying to take over the world (a concept I’d still love to explore), and if this is a partnership, I’m unsure that this would go well because I’d be very intimidated by Kaz, and I feel like I may not get much say in world plans. So I took a more pragmatic approach and thought, who’s got leadership skills, is someone I would enjoy getting along with in ruling the world, and would help me get some good done at the same time? (I’m ever the Hufflepuff, I know).

 

Gansey

I think Gansey and I would make an interesting duo, with his grand sense of justice and chivalry, while possessing such an earnest ambition to do good for the sake of all. I’ve always felt that of all the Raven Cycle characters, I can relate to Gansey the most, except he would very much be the charismatic one out of the pair of us. I’d put our laws into writing while he woos the masses. We’d get Ronan to translate our memorandums into Latin because it would please us to be so Grand and Noble.

Winter

I feel like Winter and I would get along very well in ruling the world. I think we’d enjoy going to the citizen-level, meeting people in person and listening to their problems and helping them (since I’ve started working in HR and doing this on the daily, it’s not so bad). I’d want to let Winter do all the talking and negotiating but she’d probably push me out of my comfort zone…I think we’d both have a lot of patience that would work well for us as a power team. We’d probably make a lot of jokes, on the job and off. I think we’d lead a pleasant world.

 

Neville Longbottom

You know what, I’d love to rule the world with Neville. I feel like if one of us got discouraged we’d be there to pick each other up. I like to think Neville and I would always fight for the little guy, and wouldn’t let other politicians bully us around. I think the pair of us wouldn’t have the patience for bad guys who go on making their long speeches about world domination…there was once a time when we felt quite intimidated by the big guys but we don’t have time for that anymore.

Inej 

Ruling the would with Inej would be a pretty empowering time. I like to think we’d both get along intellectually and agree on most things, but Inej would always have her knives ready for the both of us in case things got ugly. Out of everyone on this list I’d feel the most safe facing the world with Inej by my side. I also think Inej and I would rule with a spiritual sense, which would hopefully lead to peace.

Nikolai

Nikolai certainly does not need me to help him rule, but you know what, we’re teaming up anyway. We would stand on the side of the less bad buys against the worst bad guys (Kaz I’m looking at you), and I’d 100% let Nikolai do the negotiating. Ruling with Nikolai would probably stress me out tbh, but I like to think he’d take me under his wing and we’d have some fun, too.
