En route to Alaska / The Fall Book Tag

fall-book-tag.png

I have been BUSY recently. Too busy. I’ve managed to read one book in like, two weeks. But tomorrow I’m leaving to go on a roadtrip from Seattle to Anchorage, Alaska, and I’m very excited and hope to get some reading done while I travel.ย  A friend randomly called me up and asked me to help her move to Anchorage, so…how could I say no to that? I’ll be away from the internet for a week traversing the Canadian wilderness (literally camping), but hopefully when I come back I’ll feel more refreshed. I’ve been a little burnt out from posting and general online activity lately (I blame all the computer time at work).

I leave on a plane at 7:05 Saturday morning (RIP me), so I’m probably in the air as you read this ๐Ÿ˜€

ALSO it finally feels fallish outside so this tag feels appropriate. Thank you to the lovely Mischenko for tagging me for this one!! Please go check out her blog, she talks about books and music and animals and food (just to name a few things)!

This tag was created by Shanah at Bionic Bookworm, so please give her blog a visit as well! I recommend her Top 5 Tuesdays ๐Ÿ™‚

Crisp fall air – a book that felt fresh and new

28524058

I found this book very refreshing because it revolves around a girl who loves dragons, is in prison, and who is far more soft and trusting than she is clever and quick. She’s a Hufflepuff in a story where protagonists are generally Gryffindors and I loved it.

Howling winds – an ending that blew you away

17333319

It wasn’t that the ending of this book was surprising, it was just…SO WELL DONE, the last lines of it left me feeling breathless and heavy. It was one of those books that I closed and just went “wow.” Also, “howling winds” suits this book.

Comfy sweater – a book that gave you the warm and fuzzies

35388948

This book is very much like a warm fall sweater, very soft and comfortable and cozy.

Bright colors – a cover with either red, orange, or yellow

224926

I went through my list on goodreads and I’m appalled that I haven’t read many books with very fallish covers! A lot of my warmer colored books are too sinister for me to choose, so I’m going with good oldย Prisoner of Azkaban.ย Harry always gives me fall vibes, but especially this one (maybe because of Hogsmeade? Or the movie, that felt rather fallish to me)

Leaf fight – a book with nonstop action

keep-calm-danny-d-happy-birthday-party-on

This book didn’t let me rest. Even if it wasn’t physical action, the emotional action was so MUCH it felt like action.

Pumpkin spice – your most anticipated read

30319086

Rachel lent me this and I’ve been anticipating it FOREVER, so now that I have it it’s about time to DO IT.

Scrolling through these covers, I feel that they make a rather fallish group, yes? I’d definitely say they’re “cool whether reads” more than summer beach reads, at least.

I’ve seen this tag going around a lot recently, soooo….I’m going to bail myself out from tagging anyone because it’s been everywhere. But please do this tag if you haven’t, or wish to! And if you want to use the graphics for this post, it’s linked in Mischenko’s tag above!

See you guys in a week when I’m back from Alaska!!

  2. Ooh, you made me so much more excited to read Before She Ignites!! Fantasy books seem to lack hufflepuffs and it’s a tragedy indeed. And eeep!! CROOKED KINGDOM!! I love the Six of Crows books so much, you have no idea. MY HEART. Steph, send helppppp. xD Loved reading your choices here!

    • Before She Ignites is such a great book, I hope you like it! Crooked Kingdom is STILL one of the best books I’ve read and it’s nearly been a year since I’ve read it….I wish I could erase my mind of it and read it for the first time again!!

  3. I’ve done this tag recently too, and I have to say you do have a great selection of fallish books hahaha
If We Were Villains sounds very intriguing indeed! And I definitely want to read Crooked Kingdom. I also find it interesting that you mention the Gryffindor protagonists of the world – its kind of true now that I think about it. Great to see an Huffy for once! ๐Ÿ˜Š
Hope you have a great time in Alaska! Loved your post โค๏ธ
